The Ministry of Health Uganda has confirmed two new Ebola cases in the country, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to seven.

Health officials said surveillance and contact tracing efforts have been intensified in affected areas as authorities work to contain the spread of the deadly virus. The ministry also urged the public to remain calm but vigilant, emphasizing the importance of reporting suspected symptoms early and adhering to health guidelines issued by medical teams.

According to the Ministry of Health, the newly confirmed cases were identified through ongoing monitoring and laboratory testing of contacts linked to earlier infections. Response teams have since been deployed to strengthen case management, community sensitization, and infection prevention measures.

Officials further noted that all identified contacts of the confirmed patients are being monitored closely to prevent further transmission. Isolation and treatment measures have also been activated for the affected individuals.

The resurgence of Ebola has raised concern among members of the public, with health experts warning that quick detection and strict adherence to preventive measures remain critical in controlling the outbreak. Communities have been advised to avoid unnecessary physical contact, maintain proper hygiene, and immediately seek medical attention in case of symptoms such as fever, vomiting, bleeding, or severe body weakness.

The government, working together with health partners and international agencies, continues to coordinate emergency response operations aimed at containing the outbreak and protecting communities from further infections.

Uganda has previously experienced several Ebola outbreaks, with health authorities often relying on rapid response systems, contact tracing, and public awareness campaigns to curb the spread of the virus.
