Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has commended World Vision Uganda for its longstanding partnership with government in supporting the country\u2019s socio-economic transformation agenda.<\/p>\n

Nabbanja made the remarks on Thursday while launching World Vision Uganda\u2019s 2026\u20132030 five-year strategic plan at Speke Resort and Conference Centre in Munyonyo.<\/p>\n

The launch comes as World Vision Uganda marks 40 years of service in the country, having started its operations in 1986.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister said World Vision Uganda has evolved from an organisation primarily focused on humanitarian relief into one of the country\u2019s established and reliable development partners.<\/p>\n

She praised the organisation for working alongside government to improve the lives of vulnerable communities, particularly children.<\/p>\n

The Chairperson of the World Vision Uganda Board of Directors, Michael Segwaya, reaffirmed the organisation\u2019s commitment to continued collaboration with government in supporting vulnerable communities.<\/p>\n

Segwaya said particular attention will remain focused on the welfare and protection of children as World Vision implements its new strategic plan.<\/p>\n

World Vision Uganda began operations in 1986, responding to humanitarian challenges arising from the 1981\u20131986 war, the Lord\u2019s Resistance Army insurgency in northern Uganda, the HIV\/AIDS epidemic and successive refugee emergencies.<\/p>\n

Over the past four decades, the organisation has expanded its work beyond emergency response to include development and community-focused interventions.<\/p>\n

The 2026\u20132030 strategic plan is expected to guide World Vision Uganda\u2019s next phase of programming as it continues working with government and other partners to address the needs of vulnerable populations across the country.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
