{"id":4483,"date":"2026-08-26T10:18:00","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T07:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kampalatrends.com\/index.php\/2026\/08\/26\/uganda-japan-review-progress-of-uj-connect-ict-industry-promotion-project\/"},"modified":"2026-08-26T10:18:00","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T07:18:00","slug":"uganda-japan-review-progress-of-uj-connect-ict-industry-promotion-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kampalatrends.com\/index.php\/2026\/08\/26\/uganda-japan-review-progress-of-uj-connect-ict-industry-promotion-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Uganda, Japan Review Progress of UJ-Connect ICT Industry Promotion Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Uganda and Japan have reviewed progress in the implementation of the Uganda ICT Industry Promotion Project (UJ-Connect), with stakeholders highlighting the project\u2019s contribution to skills development, entrepreneurship and the growth of the country\u2019s digital economy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The review was conducted during the 7th Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) Meeting held at the Innovation Hub in Nakawa.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meeting brought together representatives from JICA Uganda, members of the UJ-Connect Technical Committees and other key stakeholders to assess the project\u2019s achievements, share lessons and discuss priorities for the remaining implementation period.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UJ-Connect has focused on strengthening Uganda\u2019s ICT ecosystem through digital skills development, business linkages, technology-driven entrepreneurship and support for an enabling policy environment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project is being implemented through a partnership between Uganda and Japan and seeks to create more opportunities for young people, ICT professionals and businesses to participate in the digital economy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stakeholders said the continued collaboration between the two countries is helping strengthen Uganda\u2019s ICT sector while supporting innovation and technology-based businesses.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meeting also provided an opportunity for stakeholders to assess the project\u2019s progress, identify lessons from its implementation and agree on the way forward for the remaining period.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UJ-Connect is expected to continue supporting the development of Uganda\u2019s digital economy by strengthening the skills and capacity of young people and ICT professionals while promoting technology-driven entrepreneurship and stronger business linkages.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Uganda and Japan have reviewed progress in the implementation of the Uganda ICT Industry Promotion Project (UJ-Connect), with stakeholders highlighting the project\u2019s contribution to skills development, entrepreneurship and the growth of the country\u2019s digital economy.
