The Minister of State for Trade, David Bahati, has challenged the Business Community to embrace innovation, excellence and customer satisfaction in abid to \u00a0create \u00a0more jobs and accelerate Uganda\u2019s economic transformation agenda.<\/p>\n

Uganda<\/span><\/span>\u2019s primary economic aspiration is the Ten fold growth strategy \u00a0that\u00a0<\/span> aims\u00a0 to expand the economy from roughly $50 billion to $500 billion by 2040<\/p>\n

Guided by Vision 2040<\/span> and the Fourth National Development Plan (NDP IV), this plan focuses on moving the country from a low-income to a competitive upper-middle-income nation.<\/p>\n

Officiating at the second addition of \u00a0Business Excellence Awards \u00a0held in Kampala\u00a0 Minister Bahati said businesses have a critical role to play in creating employment and driving\u00a0 Uganda\u2019s economic growth and aspiration.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must continue building businesses that create jobs, drive innovation and contribute to Uganda\u2019s growth and transformation,\u201d Bahati said.<\/p>\n

\"\"He urged entrepreneurs to remain innovative and maintain high standards of service and product delivery as they seek to expand their businesses and contribute to national development.<\/p>\n

Event Organiser Agnes Alowo said the awards are intended to promote excellence and encourage businesses to improve the quality of their products and services.<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough the Business Excellence Awards, we continue to champion excellence, innovation and customer satisfaction across Uganda\u2019s business community,\u201d Alowo said.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u00a0Business Awards recognise companies and individuals for outstanding performance, innovation and excellence across various sectors of Uganda\u2019s business community,\u201dshe stated.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the same event Minister of State for National Guidance, Alioni Yorke Odria assured entrepreneurs of continued government support to strengthen the private sector\u2019s contribution to national development.<\/p>\n

Under the theme \u201cCelebrating Excellence, Inspiring Innovation<\/b><\/strong>.\u201d<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0atotal of 70 companies and individual received the awards including \u00a0Stabex International Limited, Sadolin Paint, Spiro Uganda, Movit\u00a0Products,Euro Refinery and Bidco\u00a0Uganda among others.<\/p>\n

SPIRO Uganda scooped \u00a0the 2026 Platinum Winner in the Best Manufacturer and Distributor of Electric Motorcycles Category.<\/p>\n

Receiving the award\u00a0on behalf of \u00a0SPIRO Uganda,Rapa Thomson Ricky dedicated the recognition to customers who have embraced the company\u2019s electric motorcycles.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis award is for all our customers who have chosen Spiro, ridden with us, believed in electric mobility, and continue to be part of our journey,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Spiro is Africa\u2019s largest electric vehicle company, specializing in eco-friendly electric motorbikes and automated battery-swapping infrastructure<\/p>\n

In Uganda, Spiro operates an assembly plant in the Namanve Industrial Park, scaling up local green mobility to reduce carbon emissions and fossil fuel dependency<\/p>\n

Since inception in uganda the pan-African electric vehicle company has since scaled rapidly, deploying around 16,000 electric motorcycles<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0across the country as part of its aggressive green mobility and local assembly push<\/p>\n
