Sir Apollo Kaggwa Secondary School Mukono has pledged full institutional support towards the implementation of the iLEAD Visually Impaired Curriculum Materials, with the school leadership describing the initiative as a transformative opportunity to equip learners with essential leadership and life skills.<\/p>\n
Speaking during the launch of the iLEAD program at the school, Head Teacher Wadimba Deogratius said the initiative aligns with the institution\u2019s vision of providing learners with quality holistic education while preparing them to compete effectively in society.<\/p>\n
\u201cI take pride in the events of today when we are launching the iLEAD program because, as a school, it\u2019s in our vision to empower young men and women with quality holistic education and life skills,\u201d Wadimba said. He emphasized that leadership skills form a critical part of life preparation, enabling learners to navigate challenges, create opportunities, and positively influence others.<\/p>\n
\u201cLeadership skills, we take them to be life skills, because they equip our children with the ability to compete for opportunities, to manage themselves, to manage others, and also to overcome situations,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Wadimba noted that the introduction of the curriculum materials would provide learners with additional tools to excel in their academic and personal journeys. He assured the school\u2019s commitment to ensuring the program achieves its objectives through resource support and dedicated personnel.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe think that given this opportunity, our students will be further empowered to excel in the fields where they go. As management of the school, we are determined to give support in whichever way possible to this programme so that it is a success,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He revealed that the school had assigned a team of teachers to work with learners under the programme, pledging to provide the necessary time and resources within the school routine.<\/p>\n
Wadimba described the selection of Sir Apollo Kaggwa SS Mukono as one of the institutions to pioneer the program as a source of pride, especially because many learners come from rural backgrounds where such opportunities are limited.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur learners are basically rural children from peasant farmers, and these opportunities are not common. So for us, it\u2019s a godsend to be considered as a school to participate in this,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
