The Uganda Police Force, through its Directorate of Engineering and Logistics, has emerged as a standout institution after being recognized for having the highest number of registered engineers among participating organizations at a national engineering event.
The two-day engagement was organized by the Engineers Registration Board of Uganda as part of preparations for the upcoming World Engineering Day celebrations in 2026. The event brought together engineering professionals, institutions, and key stakeholders to discuss innovation and sustainable development within the sector.
Held under the theme, “Smart Engineering for a Sustainable Future through Innovation and Digitalization,” the event focused on the transformative role of technology and digital solutions in advancing engineering practice and national development.
During the function, the Uganda Police Force received special recognition for having the highest number of registered engineers among all institutions represented. The accolade highlights the Force’s strong commitment to professional standards, capacity building, and technical excellence within its engineering ranks.

Officials from the Directorate of Engineering and Logistics emphasized that engineering expertise remains central to modern policing. From infrastructure development and maintenance to fleet management, communications systems, and digital innovations, engineers within the Force play a critical role in enhancing operational efficiency and service delivery.
The Engineers Registration Board commended institutions that have prioritized professional registration and adherence to regulatory standards, noting that compliance strengthens accountability, safety, and quality assurance in engineering practice across the country.
World Engineering Day, marked annually on March 4, celebrates the contribution of engineers to sustainable development and societal advancement. As preparations intensify for the 2026 celebrations, stakeholders are expected to deepen collaboration aimed at promoting smart, innovative, and sustainable engineering solutions nationwide.
