It was officially opened and commissioned on January 10, 2024, ahead of hosting the 19th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and G77 summits. Construction on the ultra-modern facility began in late 2022 as a joint venture between the Ruparelia Group and the Uganda Development Corporation.
